Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr., recently seen as Billy Flynn in the London company of Chicago, took his first official bow in that same role on Broadway October 9.

The actor will play the smooth-talking lawyer in the Tony-winning revival through November 18 at the Ambassador Theatre.

Gooding Jr., who won the Academy Award for his work in Jerry Maguire, made his Broadway debut in 2013 in The Trip to Bountiful.

Chicago currently stars Bianca Marroquin as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Evan Harrington as Amos Hart, Raena White as Matron “Mama” Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

With a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Ebb, Chicago is now the longest-running American musical in Broadway history.
