Ben Strothmann, a portrait and theatrical photographer as well as the host of The Vegan Drag Queen, will perform his autobiographical solo show June 22 at 7 PM and June 27 at 7:30 PM at the Kraine Theater, 85 E. 4th St.

Entitled Coming Clean, the show is part of the fourth annual Queerly Festival. Mark Finley will direct.

Coming Clean traces Strothmann's journey from growing up gay in Milwaukee to learning to love himself as a gay man in Manhattan. The actor says he discovered he was gay when, as a child, he started developing crushes on cartoon characters, like Foghorn Leghorn and the Pink Panther. In the show, he recalls his adult adventures as New York became his “sexual playground.”

Strothmann previewed this 85-minute show in 2014 at Judson Memorial Church as part of their Magic Time series. The play was also seen in 2017 at Dixon Place as part of the HOT! Festival.

As Honey LaBronx, Strothmann hosts the cooking show The Vegan Drag Queen as well as the podcast Big Fat Vegan Radio. He also has performed at Joe's Pub and Birdland.
