Awards Chita Rivera Awards Will Feature Performances from La La Land, Come From Away, and Sweet Charity Additional performances have been announced for the September 11 awards ceremony at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

Robert Fairchild (An American in Paris) and Melanie Moore (Hello, Dolly!) will dance a duet from the Oscar-winning film musical La La Land as part of the lineup of performances announced for the inaugural Chita Rivera Awards on September 11 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

Randy Skinner (42nd Street, Dames at Sea, White Christmas) will direct and choreograph the evening that will also include performances from A Bronx Tale, Come From Away, and the recent Off-Broadway revival of Sweet Charity, which starred Sutton Foster. The evening will also include performances by the previously announced New York City Ballet, presenting “America” from West Side Story in Rivera’s honor, as well as American Dance Machine of the 21st Century, performing “We’ll Take a Glass Together” from Grand Hotel to honor Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Tommy Tune.

Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth (Chicago, Frasier) will host the inaugural Chita Rivera Awards, which will begin at 7:30 PM. The Chita Rivera Awards (formerly known as the Astaire Awards) honor choreographers and dancers on Broadway and Off-Broadway stages, as well as in film. The Chita Rivera Awards are presented by ADM21 founder and producing artistic director Nikki Feirt Atkins and Patricia Watt.

As previously reported, Tune will be presented with the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award, while Diane Paulus will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theater Award as director, and Antonio Vendome will receive the Outstanding Contribution to the Arts and Humanities Award.
