Cabaret & Concert News Chip Zien and Christine Pedi Star in Concert Version of Two by Two November 16 Lyricist Martin Charnin will narrate the performance at Feinstein’s/54 Below.

Chip Zien and Christine Pedi will star in a concert performance of the rarely seen 1970 Richard Rodgers-Martin Charnin-Peter Stone musical Two by Two, which retells the Biblical story of Noah and the Ark.

Charnin will be on hand to narrate the 7 PM, November 16 performance at Feinstein’s/54 Below in New York City.

Based on the play The Flowering Peach by Clifford Odets, Two by Two tells the story of Noah’s preparations for the Great Flood and its aftermath. The original Broadway production, which starred Danny Kaye in a legendary scenery-chewing performance as Noah, also featured Madeleine Kahn, Harry Goz, Marilyn Cooper, and Joan Copeland in supporting roles.

The score includes “I Do Not Know a Day I Did Not Love You,” “Two by Two,” “You,” and “When It Dries.”

Zien originated the role of the Baker in Into the Woods and Mendel the psychiatrist in the Off-Broadway production of March of Falsettos. Pedi has been featured in Forbidden Broadway, Newsical, and Spamilton.

The Feinstein’s/54 Below concert will also showcase Tiffan Borelli, Frank Calamaro, Mackenzie Perpico, Michiko Sasaki, Jared Starkey, and Richard E. Waits. Curtis Reynolds will serve as musical director and pianist. The concert will feature images and artwork from the original production.

Feinstein’s/54 Below is located at 254 West 54th Street, beneath Studio 54, in Manhattan. Tickets, which cost $35 to $75 (plus a $25 food/drink minimum), can be ordered here. Tickets on the day of performance after 4 PM are available only by calling (646) 476-3551.

Pedi has been a special guest performer on Playbill’s Broadway on the High Seas cruises. Tickets are now on sale for Playbill’s Broadway on the High Seas July 2018 cruise to Iceland, accompanied by Judy Kuhn, Christine Ebersole, Rob McClure, Jarrod Spector, Carmen Cusack, and Sierra Boggess.
