The 50th annual Joseph Jefferson Awards, which is set for October 22 at the Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook, will pay tribute to four theatres whose commitment to original works and bold interpretations of classics have shaped the city's vibrant theatre scene for more than half a century.

The Goodman (founded in 1925), the Drury Lane (founded in 1949), the Court (founded in 1959), and the Second City (founded in 1959) have been driving forces not only in the American theatre, but film and television as well.
