Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Jack O'Brien, begins performances at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre March 28 prior to an April 23 official opening. The musical incorporates some of the beloved songs from the 1971 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, as well as new tunes by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

In addition to Borle as Willy Wonka and Jake Ryan Flynn, Ryan Foust, and Ryan Sell alternating in the role of Charlie, the cast features Trista Dollison as Violet Beauregard, Alan H. Green as Mr. Beauregard, Michael Wartella as Mike Teavee, Jackie Hoffman as Mrs. Teavee, Emma Pfaeffle as Veruca Salt, Ben Crawford as Mr. Salt, F. Michael Haynie as Augustus Gloop, Kathy Fitzgerald as Mrs. Gloop, and Tony winner John Rubinstein as Grandpa Joe.
