Masterworks Broadway is set to release the original Broadway cast recording for Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which began performances March 28 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The new musical is set to officially open April 23; click here for tickets.

The cast recording will be released digitally June 2 and available in stores June 23. The album will be produced by Scott Riesett and is available for pre-order via Amazon now.

Producers have also announced that a new block of tickets will go on sale April 24 for performances through spring 2018. Beginning April 25, the production will offer $40 rush tickets, available at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre box office when it opens for that day's performance, with a limit of two tickets per person.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is led by two-time Tony Award winner Christian Borle in the role of Willy Wonka. Alternating in the role of young Charlie are Jake Ryan Flynn, Ryan Foust, and Ryan Sell, each making their Broadway debuts.

Directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien, the musical features music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman, a book by David Greig, and choreography by Joshua Bergasse. The production includes additional songs by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley from the 1971 Warner Bros. film.

The 35-member cast also includes Tony winner John Rubinstein (Pippin) as Grandpa Joe, Emily Padgett (Side Show) as Mrs. Bucket, Kathy Fitzgerald (9 to 5) as Mrs. Gloop, F. Michael Haynie (Wicked) as Augustus Gloop, Ben Crawford (Shrek) as Mr. Salt, Emma Pfaeffle (Finding Neverland) as Veruca Salt, Alan H. Green (School of Rock) as Mr. Beauregard, Trista Dollison (A Bronx Tale) as Violet Beauregard, Jackie Hoffman (On The Town) as Mrs. Teavee, and Michael Wartella (Tuck Everlasting) as Mike Teavee.

The ensemble is made up of Yesenia Ayala, Darius Barnes, Colin Bradbury, Jared Bradshaw, Ryan Breslin, Kristy Cates, Madeleine Doherty, Paloma Garcia-Lee, Stephanie Gibson, Talya Groves, Cory Lingner, Elliott Mattox, Monette McKay, Kyle Taylor Parker, Paul Slade Smith, Stephen Carrasco, Kristin Piro, Amy Quanbeck, Michael Williams, and Mikey Winslow.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is produced by Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures (Mark Kaufman), Langley Park Productions (Kevin McCormick), and Neal Street Productions (Sam Mendes, Caro Newling).
