Off-Broadway News Charles Mee's First Love, With Michael O’Keefe and Angelina Fiordellisi, Begins Off-Broadway Performances kick off June 7 at Cherry Lane Theatre.

Performances begin June 7 for Cherry Lane Theatre's production of First Love by Charles Mee. Leading the cast are Academy Award nominee Michael O’Keefe (The Great Santini) and Angelina Fiordellisi (Out of the Mouths of Babes), who play a couple in their sixties who fall in love fort the first time in their lives.

Kim Weild, who directed Mee’s acclaimed Soot and Spit, directs the Off-Broadway production. Taylor Harvey completes the cast.

In First Love, a couple work their way toward one another through the accumulated baggage of their lives, wondering if they can avoid sabotaging the last chance for love they'll ever have.

The limited Off-Broadway engagement is scheduled through July 8 with a June 14 opening.

The show features set design by Edward Pierce (Wicked, Amazing Grace), lighting design by Paul Miller (Amazing Grace), costume design by Theresa Squire (High Fidelity), and sound design by Christian Frederickson (SITI Theatre’s Antigone, Trojan Women).

Mee’s plays include bobrauschenbergamerica, Hotel Cassiopeia, Orestes 2.0, Trojan Women A Love Story, Summertime, and Wintertime, among many more.
