Video Cats Star Idris Elba Teaches Colbert How to Move Like a Jellicle The big screen's Macavity also tired to explain the plot of the upcoming take on Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical.

Idris Elba is so good at being a cat, he’s teaching late night hosts how to do slink around with a Jellicle pep in their step.

During an interview on The Late Night with Stephen Colbert, the upcoming Cats star shared what was taught in cat school (yes – the performers attended classes on how to be more like the felines). "She really spoke to us about the anatomy of a cat. We had to understand the bones, the structure, how the hips and every thing work," Elba said, adding that ultimately, though, it’s all about the shoulders.

Elba, who plays Macavity, also shared what's digitally added versus what he actually wore on set: the jacket, hat, and blue eyes as seen in the trailer are all real, but of course, the cat fur and ears are digitally added via the innovation now known as Digital Fur Technology.

Trying to explain the plot of Cats, the star said, "There's this young cat and she gets taken on this story about how to get to Cat Heaven, or what you should do to get into Cat Heaven. How am I doing? Does anyone know what this story is?"

More or less, he's correct.
