Broadway News Catch a First Look at Broadway-Bound Clive Owen in M. Butterfly The Oscar nominee returns to Broadway this fall in a revival of David Henry Hwang’s Tony-winning drama.

Clive Owen will headline the first Broadway revival of David Henry Hwang’s M. Butterfly beginning October 7. Get a first glimpse of the Oscar nominee as Rene Gallimard in the trailer above.

The production, directed by Julie Taymor, will open officially at the Cort Theatre (currently home to Indecent) October 26.

The teaser trailer features Owen delivering a passage from one of Gallimard’s opening monologues, in which the French diplomat ponders his relationship with Song Liling, a mysterious Beijing opera singer whose true identity unravels throughout the play.

Taymor’s longtime partner and collaborator Elliot Goldenthal will provide original music for the production, which will be choreographed by Ma Cong. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
