Richard Winsor, the British actor and dancer known for his role in BBC One’s medical drama Casualty and his frequent collaborations with Matthew Bourne, will play Tony Manero, the role that rocketed John Travolta to screen stardom, in a new stage production of Saturday Night Fever.

Produced by Bill Kenwright by special arrangement with The Robert Stigwood Organization, the tour will also feature direction by Kenwright.

Opening in London at the New Wimbledon Theatre August 30, the production will play Liverpool, Dublin, Birmingham, Bristol, Aylesbury, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Blackpool, Llandudno, Bradford, and Cardiff. Additional casting will be announced.


Saturday Night Fever tells the story of Tony Manero, and his reckless, yet thrilling road to dancing success. The musical features Bee Gees hits including “Stayin’ Alive,” “How Deep Is Your Love,” “Night Fever,” “Tragedy,” and “More Than a Woman” as well as ’70s favorites “Boogie Shoes” and “Disco Inferno.” The upcoming staging will feature a group playing the Bee Gees live onstage.

Saturday Night Fever will also have choreography by Olivier Award winner Bill Deamer, designs by Gary McCaan, lighting by Nick Richings, and sound by Dan Samson. The stage adaptation is by Robert Stigwood in collaboration with Bill Oakes.
