5-Star Theatricals will present Dreamgirls in Concert February 16 at 8 PM at the Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.

Directed by Robert Clater, the evening will have musical direction by Patrick Gandy and choreography by Lesia Kaye.

The cast will feature Lynette DuPree as Effie, Karla Mosley as Deena, Jenelle Randall as Lorrell, Chante Carmel as Michelle, Brian Evaret Chandler as Curtis, Eric B. Anthony as CC, Grasan Kingsberry as Wayne, Jeremy Whatley as Jimmy, and Marvin Thornton as Marty.

The ensemble will include Deanna Anthony, Andy Arena, Emerson Collins, Zach Colonna, John Devereaux, Otis Easter, Lexie Faith, Mikaela Fleming, Kenney Green, Theresa Hayes, Gabrielle Jackson, Mitchell Johnson, Dominique Kent, Justyn Malik, Blake McIver, Annie Grace Payne, Jamie Pierce, Eran Scoggins, Shunt Tabb, and Sara Wimmer.

The 1981 Broadway musical has music by Henry Krieger and a book and lyrics by Tom Eyen. Songs from the musical include “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” “I Am Changing,” “One Night Only,” and “Steppin’ To The Bad Side.”

Dreamgirls is one of the greatest musicals of all time, and this benefit evening for 5-Star Theatricals will be full of surprises, a full orchestra onstage, spectacular choreography, and one of the most thrilling scores sung by some of the most talented artists in Southern California,” says 5-Star Theatricals Artistic Director Patrick Cassidy in a statement.
