New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players’ 44th season will continue with five performances of The Pirates of Penzance, running December 27–30 at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (E. 68th Street Between Park and Lexington Avenues).
The cast, under the leadership of Founder and Artistic Director Albert Bergeret, will include sopranos Sarah Caldwell Smith and Katie Dixon as Mabel, James Mills and David Macaluso alternating as the pattering Major-General Stanley and pirate sidekick Samuel, Angela Christine Smith as nursemaid Ruth, David Auxier as Sergeant of Police, Matthew Wages as the Pirate King, tenors Alex Corson and Carter Lynch as pirate apprentice Frederic, and mezzos Amy Maude Helfer, Abigail Benke, Emily Wright, Hannah Holmes, and Merrill Grant as the Major-General’s daughters.

The theatre company will also offer New Year's Eve With NYGASP—Gilbert and Sullivan favorites followed by their signature tour-de-force challenge, audience requests from the composers' repertoire performed impromptu. The festivities at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway at 95th Street) begin at 7:30 PM and will also include a champagne toast.
