International News Cast Complete for World Premiere of Cilla—The Musical A U.K. tour will launch in September at the Liverpool Empire.

Casting is now complete for Cilla–The Musical, based on Jeff Pope's original ITV miniseries Cilla. The musical, written by Pope and directed by Bill Kenwright and Bob Tomson, will make its world premiere September 7–16 at the Liverpool Empire Theatre.

The cast is led by Kara Lily Hayworth in the title role, with Andrew Lancel (Brian Epstein), Carl Au (Bobby), Amy Bridges (Rose Willis), Gemma Brodrick-Bower (Pauline), Paul Broughton (John White), Bill Caple (Ringo Starr), Tom Christian (Kenny Willis), Tom Dunlea (Hutch), Pauline Fleming (Big Cilla), Joshua Gannon (Paul McCartney), Billie Hardy (Pat), and Michael Hawkins (John Lennon).

The Merseybeat sound is performed live onstage by Alan Howell, Jay Osbourne, Alex Harford, Will Kinnon, Jenny Murphy, Tom Sowinski, and Christopher Weeks.

Cilla tells the story of the ordinary girl from Liverpool whose teenage dreams of stardom led her to become one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers of all time. The score features Cilla’s greatest hits, including “Anyone Who Had a Heart,” “Alfie,” and “Something Tells Me.”

Following Liverpool Empire, the production will play Edinburg Playhouse, Milton Keynes Theatre, Mayflower Theatre Southampton, New Alexandra Theatre Birmingham, Blackpool Opera House, New Theatre Cardiff, New Wimbledon Theatre, and many more venues.

Cilla–The Musical is produced by Bill Kenwright and Laurie Mansfield alongside Executive Producer Robert Willis.
