Off-Broadway News Bruce Norris’ The Low Road Extends Off-Broadway The Public Theater production will play an additional week, through April 8.

The American premiere of Bruce NorrisThe Low Road has been extended an additional week and will now play through April 8 at The Public Theater. The ambitious new drama from the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright (in which 17 actors take on 50 roles) details the birth of capitalism in America.

The Low Road is directed by Michael Greif. Set in the 18th century, the play imagines America’s first laissez-faire capitalist, played by Looking's Chris Perfetti.

Completing the cast are Tony winner Harriet Harris, three-time Tony nominee Kevin Chamberlin, Tessa Albertson, Max Baker, Daniel Davis, Crystal A. Dickinson, Gopal Divan, Jack Hatcher, Josh Henderson, Chukwudi Iwuji, Johnny Newcomb, Susannah Perkins, Richard Poe, Dave Quay, Aaron Michael Ray, Joseph Soeder, and Danny Wolohan.

Performances of The Low Road began February 13 ahead of a March 7 opening.

Norris’ plays include A Parallelogram, which recently played Off-Broadway, as well as Clybourne Park, The Qualms, The Unmentionables, The Pain and the Itch, and Purple Heart.
