Broadway News Broadway’s Wicked Welcomes a New Wizard February 18 The international hit musical continues at the Gershwin Theatre.

The international hit musical Wicked welcomes Michael McCormick (Hello, Dolly!) to the role of The Wizard beginning February 18 at the Gershwin Theatre.

McCormick succeeds Kevin Chamberlin, who played his final performance February 17. (In related news, on March 12, Gizel Jiménez, seen Off-Broadway in Avenue Q and Miss You Like Hell, will make her Broadway debut as Nessarose.)

The Broadway cast currently includes Jessica Vosk as Elphaba, Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Nancy Opel as Madame Morrible, Ryan McCartan as Fiyero, Jamie Jackson as Doctor Dillamond, and Jesse JP Johnson as Boq.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked has a score by Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman, and direction by Joe Mantello with musical staging by Wayne Cilento.
