Kaley Ann Voorhees will assume the role of Christine November 19, succeeding Ali Ewoldt, who will play her final performance November 17. Voorhees is currently the Christine Alternate, a role she’s played off and on for several engagements since her Phantom and Broadway debut in September 2014.
Eryn LeCroy will make her Phantom and Broadway debut as the Christine Alternate November 21. LeCroy's Off-Broadway/New York credits include the recent production of Sweeney Todd as Johanna and the Encores! production of Assassins.
Kelsey Connolly will also make her Phantom and Broadway debut November 20 as the inquisitive ballerina Meg Giry. She follows Kara Klein, who played her final performance June 23. (In the interim, the role has been played by Polly Baird and Jessica Bishop.) Connolly previously appeared in the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular and performed with the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company in Artemis in Athens at The Joyce Theater.
Continuing in their roles are Ben Crawford as The Phantom, Jay Armstrong Johnson as Raoul, Laird Mackintosh as Monsieur André, Craig Bennett as Monsieur Firmin, Raquel Suarez Groen as Carlotta, Maree Johnson as Madame Giry, and Carlton Moe as Piangi.
Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera is produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Group, features music by Lloyd Webber, direction by Harold Prince, lyrics by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe), and a book by Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber. The musical also features design by the late Maria Björnson, lighting by Andrew Bridge, and sound design by Mick Potter with original sound by Martin Levan. Musical staging and choreography are by the late Gillian Lynne. Musical supervision and direction are by David Caddick, and orchestrations are by David Cullen and Lloyd Webber.
