Broadway News Broadway’s The Band’s Visit Announces Digital Lottery The acclaimed new musical will offer the chance to win $40 tickets to every performance.

Beginning March 16, The Band’s Visit will offer a digital lottery to make $40 same-day tickets available to theatre goers. This is in addition to the show’s established general rush seats.

The digital lottery will open at midnight on the day of each performance and will draw at 9 AM for matinees and 2 PM for evening performances. Winners will be notified by email shortly after each drawing and have two hours to claim and pay for up to two tickets online. Tickets can be picked up at the Barrymore Theatre box office 30 minutes prior to show time. Photo ID is required for pickup; seat locations and number of tickets awarded by the lottery are subject to availability. To enter and for more information, visit TheBandsVisitLottery.com.

Based on the film of the same name, the new musical is written by Itamar Moses with a score by David Yazbek. Directed by Drama Desk-winning director David Cromer, it tells the story of an Egyptian police orchestra that mistakenly winds up in an Israeli desert town.

The Band’s Visit opened at Broadway’s Ethel Barrymore Theatre in November after a world premiere Off-Broadway run at the Atlantic Theatre Company.

The Broadway company currently features Katrina Lenk, Dariush Kashani, John Cariani, Ari'el Stachel, George Abud, Etai Benson, Adam Kantor, Andrew Polk, Bill Army, Rachel Prather, Jonathan Raviv, Sharone Sayegh, Kristen Sieh, Alok Tewari, Pomme Koch, Ahmad Maksoud, Madison Micucci and James Rana. Musicians include Andrea Grody, Alexandra Eckhardt, Ossama Farouk, Philip Mayer, Sam Sadigursky, Jeff Theiss, Harvey Valdes, and David Garo Yellin.
