The Broadway production of Sweat has launched #WeAreSweat. In celebration of Sweat giving a voice to Americans who aren’t always heard, the campaign encourages audience members to express what Lynn Nottage’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play means to them.

Here’s how to get involved: First, record a video of yourself saying what Sweat means to you. It can be as short as 30 seconds or as long as 2 minutes, and you must say “We Are Sweat” during the recording. Upload your video at SweatBroadway.com/WeAreSweat by May 19.

The submissions will be compiled into a single video and shared on social media.

Sweat tells the story of a group of friends who have spent their lives working together on the factory floor in Reading, Pennsylvania. When rumors of layoffs begin to stir, rifts form, chipping away at their trust and pitting them against each other.

HOW SWEAT BECAME AN AWARD-WINNING PLAY

Sweat, directed by Kate Whoriskey, played an acclaimed and sold-out Off-Broadway engagement at The Public Theater last year before transferring to Studio 54 this spring. Previews began March 4 ahead of a March 26 opening.
