Broadway star Andrew Keenan-Bolger and composer Adam Wachter have just released their award-winning new film Sign. The short has been on the festival circuit for the past year, winning Best Short at the Sidewalk Film Festival, the Youth Jury Award at the Iris Prize Festival, and Best Men’s Short at OUT on Film Atlanta.

Written by Wachter (with his original music), the 14-minute film directed by Keenan-Bolger stars Broadway’s John McGinty (Children of a Lesser God) and Preston Sadleir in a love story about a hearing man who falls in love with a deaf man. The writing team worked with Deaf members of the Broadway community to create the silent film, including director of ASL and and culture Alexandra Wailes (Children of a Lesser God, Deaf West’s Spring Awakening).

The film also features actors Maleni Caitoo, Sydney Morton, Joshua Castille, Garrett Zuercher, Craig Fogel, Melissa Golliday, Tony Sheldon, Jennifer Smith, Ben Mapp, Matthew Bauman, Scott Bixby, Peregrine Heard, Marti Gould Cummings, Jarvis Derrell, Madeline Trumble, with Stanley Bahorek, Alex German Beutel, Lalita Chaitoo, Hannah Comedy, Dylan Geil, Jubil Kahn, Carmen Napier, T.J. Newton, Miu Yan Ng, Sienna Rafter, and Emily Trumble.
