Broadway veteran Jim Walton, most recently seen in the Glenn Close-led revival of Sunset Boulevard, returns to the New York stage November 13 in the Tony-winning Come From Away at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
Walton steps into the role of Nick, succeeding Lee MacDougall, who had been with the production since it opened on Broadway in March 2017.
Walton has also been seen on Broadway in Merrily We Roll Along, Stardust, Sweeney Todd, The Music Man, Guys and Dolls, Bye Bye Birdie, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, On the Twentieth Century, 42nd Street, Perfectly Frank, and She Loves Me. Walton's niece, Emily Walton, stars in the national tour of Come From Away. With a book, music, and lyrics by Tony and Grammy nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, Come From Away is directed by Tony winner Christopher Ashley with musical staging by two-time Tony nominee Kelly Devine (Rocky) and music supervision by Grammy nominee Ian Eisendrath.
The musical, which tells the true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them in the immediate aftermath of September 11, also currently plays the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. A national tour launched in October.
