Pippin star Annie Potts will join Iain Armitage, the young actor and theatre fan made famous by his enthusiastic online reviews of Broadway shows, in CBS’ Young Sheldon. The show, which stars nine-year-old Armitage in the title role, follows the early life of Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory (played by Jim Parsons).

Potts was last seen on Broadway as Berthe in the 2013 revival of Pippin. She also played Annette in Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Potts will play the role of Meemaw in Young Sheldon, the boy’s foul-mouthed, hard-drinking Texas grandmother.
