Pressley, who is currently starring in Hutchinson's Surely Goodness and Mercy (running Off-Broadway through April 13 in a production from the Keen Company), will take on the role of Constance. In the new play, Constance's happy life and upper-class Black family is splintered by a sudden and tragic accident.

Proof of Love is a monologue piece commissioned by Audible through its $5 million Emerging Playwrights fund. The world premiere, directed by Jade King Carroll (The Gin Game, Hello From the Children of Planet Earth), is the inaugural production to come out of Audible's Emerging Playwright program, which currently includes 25 commissions.

The play, a co-production from the audio production company and New York Theatre Workshop will begin May 7 ahead of a May 14 opening and will later be released as an audio play.

A full creative team will be announced shortly.
