Norwood has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. She initially rose to fame with her multi-platinum, self-titled debut album featuring the hit single “I Wanna Be Down.” Her record The Boy Is Mine features the best-selling duet of all time. She also starred in her own sitcom, Moesha, and made history in Disney’s television film Cinderella as its first black princess, starring alongside the late Whitney Houston. Norwood received a 2014 NAACP Image Award for her role as Chardonnay on BET’s The Game.

The cast currently features Terra C. MacLeod as Velma Kelly, Paul Vogt as Amos Hart, Roz Ryan as Matron “Mama” Morton, and C. Newcomer as Mary Sunshine.

With a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Ebb, Chicago is now the No. 1 longest-running American musical in Broadway history. Produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, Chicago is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Revival, and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording.

The national tour is directed by David Hyslop and choreographed by David Bushman. Walter Bobbie is the director of the original New York production, and Ann Reinking is the original choreographer in the style of Bob Fosse. Chicago features set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Ken Billington, and sound design by Scott Lehrer. The production also has orchestrations by Ralph Burns, with Rob Fisher supervising music direction.
