Among the big names announced for Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company's 2018–2019 season are Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Rajiv Joseph, and Aziza Barnes.
Jacobs-Jenkins' 2016 Pulitzer Prize finalist Gloria—about one very atypical day and its aftermath at a New York City magazine—begins the season. Kip Fagan directs the production, which runs September 9–30.
Second City celebrates the tenth anniversary of its first Woolly production with The Second Stage Presents She the People, a "mimosa-fueled" attack on the patriarchy December 3–January 6, 2019. Next is Aziza Barnes’ BLKS (February 4–March 3, 2019), about an "epic night on the town," followed by Rajiv Joseph's Describe the Night (May 27–June 23, 2019), set in Russia over a 90-year period.
Before the official launch of the season, however, Woolly Mammoth hosts special engagements of Upright Citizen Brigade's Damned If You Do (July 10–29), in which the UCB's comedians play out how one small decision could impact your life, and Mike Daisey's The Story of the Gun, the monologuist's take on America's relationship with guns that will run July 31–August 5.Woolly Mammoth is located at 641 D Street NW, Washington, D.C.
