The Boston Ballet will present works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Jorma Elo, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, and Helen Pickett as part of its 2019–2020 season.

The company’s 56th annual season launches September 19 with Giselle. Staged by Boston Ballet ballerina Larissa Ponomarenko, performances will run through September 29. Mikko Nissinen’s staging of The Nutracker returns November 29–December 29.

The spring season opens with rEVOLUTION February 27–March 8, 2020. The work pays tribute to George Balanchine (Agon), William Forsythe (In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated), and Jerome Robbins (Glass Pieces).

Running March 12–22, 2020, the Boston Ballet will celebrate the work of women in dance in Carmen, a program of four ballets exploring the depth of human connection.

Nissenen’s Swan Lake will return May 1–31, 2020, followed by Off the Charts, running May–29, 2020. The program will feature a world premiere by Stephen Galloway (Dance Part 3), Jiří Kylián (Bella Figura), and William Forsythe (Artifact Suite).
