Bedlam, the imaginative theatre company most recently represented Off-Broadway with Uncle Romeo Vanya Juliet, a mash-up of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet and Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, will return to the New York stage this fall with Arthur Miller’s Tony-winning 1953 play The Crucible.
Directed by Artistic Director Eric Tucker, previews will begin November 8 at the Connelly Theater prior to an official opening November 21. The seven-week engagement, which follows a four-week run at Boston's Central Square Theatre, will continue through December 29.
Casting, design team, and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
“I look forward to diving into this play that I’ve admired for years. The Crucible is a great fit for Bedlam because Miller’s writing and the setting for the piece are very sparse which is in keeping with Bedlam’s aesthetic and it is also a great fit for this moment in time,” said Tucker.
The Crucible was most recently revived on Broadway in March 2016 directed by Ivo van Hove.
