Beanie Feldstein, most recently seen on Broadway in the hit revival of Hello, Dolly! as well as in Greta Gerwig's acclaimed directorial feature debut Lady Bird, is set to lead the film adaptation of Caitlin Moran's novel, How to Build a Girl. According to Deadline, Feldstein will star as Johanna Morrigan, the smart, opinionated teenager who decides to re-invent herself as an adventurous music critic.

The 1990s-set story follows Johanna as she goes about rebuilding her life and new, notorious persona. But is it enough?

The coming-of-age film will be directed by Coky Giedroyc, who has directed for the TV series Penny Dreadful, The Killing, Reckless, Spies of Warsaw, and more.

Moran is a British journalist and author. How to Build a Girl is her fourth novel.
