The Darko Tresnjak-helmed musical, based on the 1997 animated film, opened on Broadway in April 2017. Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, who earned Oscar nominations for the score and song "Journey to the Past," composed new material for the stage adaptation, reuniting with their Ragtime collaborator Terrence McNally, who penned the book.
