On June 3, Broadway’s biggest voices will unite for A Night of Broadway Stars to benefit Covenant House. The gala event honors actor Rachel Brosnahan with the Beacon of Hope Award in recognition of her work advocating for millions of young people facing homelessness, which has included leadership of Covenant House’s annual Sleep Out: Stage and Screen Edition and service on Covenant House’s International Board of Directors.
A Night of Broadway Stars will take place in Frederick P. Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
The evening will also honor Jim Burke, a longtime supporter of the Covenant House, and Doug Blagdon, member of Covenant House's Board of Directors, chair of the CH New York Finance Committee.
After cocktails and hours d’oeuvres, a concert performance begins at 8PM. Directed by Newsies director (and CH board member) Jeff Calhoun and hosted by CBS 60 Minutes’ John Dickerson, the show features performances by CH board members Audra McDonald and Capathia Jenkins, as well as Tony Shalhoub, Erich Bergen, Adrienne Warren, Caitlin Kinnunen, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Laura Osnes, Teal Wicks, Gavin Lee, Michael James Scott, Angela Grovey, Shoshana Bean, members of the cast of Ain’t Too Proud—including Saint Aubyn, E. Clayton Cornelious, Marcus Paul James, Jelani Remy, and Christian Thompson—and Broadway Inspirational Voices.
Following the concert, guests are invited for a dessert reception with the stars.
Brosnahan is best known for her starring title role on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, for which she earned an Emmy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She made her Broadway debut in The Big Knife in 2013. In 2016, she starred in New York Theater Workshop’s Othello. Next, she will appear in the film Ironbark alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and will star in and produce the film I’m Your Woman with Amazon Studios.
Past Beacon of Hope Award recipients include Jon Bon Jovi, Martina McBride, James Cameron, Herbie Hancock, and more.

Rachel has taken the time to meet many of them and lead a national effort to end youth homelessness. She has used her gifts to focus resources, marshal popular opinion and inspire a generation of young people to overcome adversity.”
