Rainy Day Productions will present industry readings of Jean Dobie Giebel’s Chasing the River January 28 at 3 PM and 7 PM and January 29 at 4 PM in Manhattan.
Directed by Illana Stein, the cast will feature Annie Golden, Deborah Rayne, Tony Carlin, Aaron Costa Ganis, Chet Siegel, and Wendy Rich Stetson. The readings follow a benefit performance of the play in January 2018 that featured several members of the current cast.
The play concerns Kat, who returns to the scene of events that changed the course of her life after a ten-year prison sentence. As she searches for a way to make peace with her past, new revelations and unexpected reunions clash with her long-held memories of childhood.
The creative team includes composer and sound designer Arthur Solari, movement choreographer Robert Wesley, and production dramaturg Kate Farrington. Perry Street Theatricals is the executive producer and general manager. Casting is by Stephanie Klapper Casting. The stage manager is Shane Schnetzler, and the assistant stage manager is Marjorie Ann Wood.
