Robert Fairchild, the former New York City Ballet principal dancer who made his 2015 Broadway debut in the stage premiere of the Gershwin classic An American in Paris, is the latest cast member announced for the upcoming film of Cats, according to Variety.

Fairchild has been announced to play Munkustrap in a cast of stars that also includes Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, Ian McKellen, James Corden, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, and Jason Derulo.

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE CATS MOVIE SO FAR

Hamilton’s Andy Blankenbuehler will choreograph the feline-friendly film adaptation of the musical that is directed by Tom Hooper. The film is slated to premiere December 20, 2019.
