Feinstein’s/54 Below, the supper club located below Studio 54, will boast these events of interest to theatre folk the week of August 10–17.

August 10–12, August 23–September 3: Michael Feinstein: Showstoppers
The co-owner and namesake of Feinstein’s returns to his home base with a concert of songs that explore the meaning of the expression “showstopper.” 7 and/or 9:30 PM on various dates. Click here for details.

August 10: New Writers at 54! The Songs of Sam Wilmott

Tony nominee Tony Sheldon and other Broadway veterans help celebrate the songs of budding songwriter Wilmott. 9:30 PM Click here for details.

August 11: 54 Sings Broadway’s Greatest Hits

The latest in the monthly series directed by Scott Siegel, this concert will feature Jeremy Kushnier (Paramour), Jillian Louis (It Shoulda Been You), Michael McCorry Rose (Wicked), Brian Charles Rooney, Katelyn Mallow and Pedro Coppeti singing favorite songs from classic Broadway shows. 9:30 PM.

August 12: An Evening with Broadway Method Academy

The program’s students and alumni perform songs from BMA productions including Hair, Carousel, Spring Awakening, and The Music Man. Special guests include Grady Long (The Audience), Stephanie Jae Park (War Paint), Julius Anthony Rubio (Finding Neverland), Antoine L. Smith (Miss Saigon), and Kimber Sprawl (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical). 11:30 PM.
August 13: New Writers at 54! The Creations of Katie Thompson

Julia Mattinson performs as her alter ego, Broadway and Hollywood diva Ruby Manger, sharing the scandalous backstage stories of her fictional career, including her “Tony-winning” performance in the Best Musical, I See You, Not Really, But You Know What I Mean. Guest performers: Taylor Trensch of Hello, Dolly!, Andrew Kober, and Noel Carey. 7 PM

August 14: New Writers at 54! The Songs of Kailey Marshall

August 15: New Writers at 54! The River Is Me by Sukhari Jones and Troy Anthony
Tonya Pinkins, Eddie Cooper, Latoya Edwards, Francesca Ferrari, Tanesha Gary, Brett Macias, Larry Owens, and Jason Veasey perform the original gospel-blues-R&B score to this musical by the up-and-coming songwriting team. 9:30 PM Click here for details.

August 16: The Broadhurst at 100
Alice Ripley, Carol Demas, Howard McGillin, Wayne Cilento, Jim Brochu, Don Scardino, Christiane Noll, and other Broadway luminaries perform songs that were first heard on the stage of Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre, which opened September 27, 1917. August 17: Inner City: The Musical Reunion Concert
Annie Golden, Lauren Elder, Yolanda Wyns, C.E. Smith, Cheryl Pepsii Riley, Dionne Carole, and others will join original cast member Allan Nicholls for a fond look back at the 1971 Broadway musical revue about life in the Big Apple with book and lyrics by Eve Merriam, and score by Helen Miller. Two shows: 7 and 9:30 PM
