Tom Riis Farrell, Glenn Fleshler, and Tony winner Alice Ripley have joined the cast of Red Bull Theater's upcoming staged reading of Ben Jonson's 17th century comedy, The Alchemist. The new adaptation from Jeffrey Hatcher (The Government Inspector), directed by Red Bull Artistic Director Jesse Berger, will be performed June 24 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre Off-Broadway.

Rounding out the company will be Duane Boutte, Christopher Fitzgerald, John Glover, Tracie Lane, Teresa Avia Lim, Euan Morton, Noah Robbins, Steve Rosen, and Spiff Weigand. Steven Boyer and Stephen DeRosa, previously announced, had to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts.

In The Alchemist, quick-witted con men Face and Subtle, together with the brilliant prostitute Dol Common, scam and lure a series of unsuspecting victims to the respectable Blackfriars house.

The reading is part of Red Bull's Obie Award-winning Revelation Reading Series. Visit redbulltheater.com for tickets and more information.
