Broadway News Alex Boniello Joins Cast of Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen May 15 The actor succeeds Tony nominee Mike Faist in the Tony-winning musical.

Alex Boniello, who previously appeared on Broadway as the voice of Moritz in Deaf West's Spring Awakening, joins the cast of the Tony-winning Dear Evan Hansen May 15 in the role of Connor Murphy.

He succeeds Tony nominee Mike Faist, who played his final performance May 13.

Will Roland will play his final performance as Jared Kleinman June 10. His replacement will be announced shortly. Roland is departing the company to be part of the coming-of-age Joe Iconis musical Be More Chill, which is scheduled to begin performances Off-Broadway July 26.

Hello, Dolly! alum Taylor Trensch officially took his first bow as Evan Hansen February 6. The actor succeeded Noah Galvin in the role created by Tony winner Ben Platt.

Dear Evan Hansen features a score by the Tony- and Oscar-winning songwriting team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dogfight, A Christmas Story), a book by Tony winner Steven Levenson (Masters of Sex), choreography by Danny Mefford (Fun Home), and direction by multiple Tony nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal, If/Then).

The Broadway company also features Laura Dreyfuss, Tony winner Rachel Bay Jones, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Michael Park, and Phoenix Best.
