The television adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Ordeal by Innocence will premiere in the U.S. on Amazon Prime Video August 10. The three-episode limited series is based on the novel of the same name and is the first of a number of Amazon's adaptations of the Christie catalog.

Ordeal by Innocence features an ensemble cast made up of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child star Anthony Boyle, Bill Nighy (Skylight on Broadway), Anna Chancellor (Stanley on Broadway, The Hour), Morven Christie (The A Word), Crystal Clarke (Assassin’s Creed), Christian Cooke (The Promise), Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness), Matthew Goode (The Good Wife, Downton Abbey), Ella Purnell (Sweetbitter, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children), Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark), and Luke Treadaway (Fortitude).

Adapted by Sarah Phelps (The Casual Vacancy, The Crimson Field), Ordeal by Innocence uncovers the mystery of the murder within the Argyll family. Old wounds are reopened for the Argylls when a man suddenly turns up and claims that the black sheep of the family, Jack Argyll, could not have murdered its tyrannical matriarch—for which he was accused just one year earlier. The family must come to terms with Jack’s innocence and with the fact that one of them may be the real murderer.
