Gettin’ the Band Back Together, the musical comedy about a 40-year-old out-of-work banker who decides to reunite his old high school band, is set to begin performances at the Belasco Theatre July 19 ahead of an official opening August 13.

With direction by Tony Award winner John Rando and choreography by Chris Bailey, the show stars Mitchell Jarvis (Rock of Ages), Jay Klaitz (Lend Me a Tenor, High Fidelity), Manu Narayan (Bombay Dreams), Paul Whitty (Once, The Full Monty), and Sawyer Nunes (Matilda, Finding Neverland).

Gettin’ the Band Back Together features a book by Ken Davenport (who also produces) and the performance group Grundleshotz, who helped develop the show through a series of improv rehearsals. Mark Allen penned the score, and Sarah Saltzberg (a member of Grundleshotz) provided additional material.

Gettin’ the Band Back Together had its world premiere in 2013 at George Street Playhouse, also directed by Rando.
