The world premiere of Chisa Hutchinson’s solo play Proof of Love is set to open at the Minetta Lane Theatre May 14 after beginning preview performances May 7. The co-production from Audible and New York Theatre Workshop is directed by Jade King Carroll and stars Brenda Pressley.

Hutchinson's solo play, which was commissioned by Audible, tells the story of Constance, whose happy life and upper-class Black family is splintered by a sudden and tragic accident. As she attempts to piece together the decisions that led to this moment, Constance is forced to re-evaluate her own prejudices within the Black community.
