8 Musicals Move On to Round 2 of the 2019 Broadway Brackets

Voting is complete and the results are in for Division 2, Round 1 of Broadway Brackets 2019!

Two recent Best Musical Theater Album Grammy winners went head-to-head in this round, with Dear Evan Hansen winning over The Band's Visit (with 74% of votes). Hamilton did not throw away its shot and won over the cast album for the 2015 revival of The Color Purple (with 84% of the votes); and Kinky Boots celebrated triumphantly with 63% of votes over Once. In the final match-up, The Book of Mormon pulled ahead over Beautiful with over 70% of votes.

We head into Round 2 with Wicked taking on In The Heights; the 2009 revival of West Side Story up against American Idiot; Hamilton battling it out with Kinky Boots; and Dear Evan Hansen matched up with The Book of Mormon.

Voting for Round 2 will end at noon ET on March 27, where the winners will move on to the final four.
