Eva Noblezada is back on Broadway, having made her Broadway debut two years ago in Miss Saigon as Kim.
But Noblezada sheds all of Kim’s hesitancy and arms herself with a bold strength for her latest character, Eurydice in Hadestown.
Before being asked to audition, Noblezada had not heard any previous recordings and has been able to re-mold the role to her own interpretation, inspired by Anaïs Mitchell’s poetry. “She’s a poet. She’s a prophet,” Noblezada says of her writer-composer-lyricist.
Here, the now two-time Tony Award nominee tells Playbill what theatre is to her, what the show about her life would be called, and the quote she lives by.
