25 Days of Tonys: Burn This and Star Wars Star Adam Driver | Playbill

Video 25 Days of Tonys: Burn This and Star Wars Star Adam Driver What are the Girls actor’s top four theatrical experiences?

Adam Driver is back on Broadway in the Tony-nominated revival of Lanford Wilson’s Burn This. The role marks Driver’s return to Broadway after an eight-year hiatus, during which he earned acclaim for his work on HBO’s Girls and, most recently, an Oscar nomination for BlacKkKlansman.

A graduate of Juilliard, Driver made his Broadway debut in Mrs. Warren’s Profession alongside Cherry Jones and followed that up with Man and Boy alongside Frank Langella.

But as for the performances he’s seen that have most impacted him, he names the work of four other actors: Bill Irwin, Fiona Shaw, Paul Giamatti, and Sheldon Woodley. Watch the full video above to find out more about where he saw these actors and what it was about their performances that inspired him.

Driver may well now be inspiring the next generation as his place in the pop culture mainstream brings newcomers to Broadway for the first time. Hear more from him on the opening night red carpet of Burn This in the video below:
