Applications are now open for SPACE on Ryder Farm in 2018. The non-profit residency program for theatre artists is housed on a 222-year-old working farm in Brewster, New York, and will run June through October 2018.

SPACE’s signature programs include: The Working Farm, a resident writers’ group made up of eight playwrights or composer/lyricists who use the space to develop new work (alumni include Hand to God playwright Rob Askins, Max Posner (The Treasurer), Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (Everybody, An Octoroon), and Sarah Burgess (Dry Powder)); The Greenhouse Residency, which offers early-career playwrights a week dedicated to writing, research, and professional development; and The Family Residency, a co-initiative with the Lilly Awards which supports working parents and their children (past participants include Linda Cho, Sarah Ruhl, and Georgia Stitt).

Applications will close January 10. Click here for more information on the residencies and how to apply.

SPACE on Ryder Farm also offers programs for activists and artists across other creative disciplines. Residents are provided housing, meals, artistic support and access to 130 acres of organic farmland.
