Nominations for the 69th Annual Emmy Awards were announced July 13. Among those who received nods for their screen work were a number of Tony winners and stage favorites.

Tony winner Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon both picked up Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie nominations for their performances in FEUD: Bette and Joan. The pair of Oscar winners took on the roles of Hollywood legends and rivals Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, respectively, in the first season of Ryan Murphy’s latest anthology series. Also honored for her work on the series is Jackie Hoffman (currently on Broadway in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) for her portrayal of Mamacita.

Joining them in the category are Tony nominee Carrie Coon for Fargo, Broadway alums Felicity Huffman and Nicole Kidman for American Crime and Big Little Lies, respectively, and Kidman’s co-star Reese Witherspoon.

Tony and Pulitzer winner Lin-Manuel Miranda scored a Guest Actor in a Comedy Series nomination for his hosting duties on Saturday Night Live. For Guest Actor in a Drama, Tony winners Denis O'Hare (This Is Us) and BD Wong (Mr. Robot) picked up nods, as did Tony nominee Hank Azaria for Ray Donovan.

Two Tony winners received nods for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series: 2017 Tony Awards host Kevin Spacey (House of Cards) and Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan). In the Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category, three more Tony winners were recognized: Mandy Patinkin (Homeland), John Lithgow (The Crown), and Jeffrey Wright (Westworld).

Additional stage names to earn nominations include Tony winner Judith Light for Transparent, Tony winner Geoffrey Rush for Genius, Tony winner Kevin Kline for Bob's Burgers, Olivier nominee Benedict Cumberbatch for Sherlock: The Lying Detective, Tony winner Lily Tomlin and Tony nominee Jane Fonda for Grace and Frankie, Tony and Oscar winner Viola Davis for How to Get Away with Murder, Tony nominees Elisabeth Moss and Alison Janney for The Handmaid’s Tale and Mom, respectively, Tony winner Cicely Tyson for How to Get Away with Murder, and Tituss Burgess for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

NBC's presentation of Hairspray Live! received seven nominations, including one for Tony-winning set designer Derek McLane for his production design; he was also nominated this year for his work on the 2016 Oscars. The live musical's additional nominations include Outstanding Special Class Program. Also nominated in that category is the 2016 Tony Awards, which earned a total of four nods.

Prolific casting director Bernard Telsey of Telsey + Company earned his third Emmy nomination this year for his work on This Is Us. He was nominated last year for casting Grease: Live.
